Treatment of Mastopathy

Available in: Deutsch Русский Українська

Dear patients,

mastopathy — benign changes in breast tissue — is a very common condition that worries many women. In most cases it is not life-threatening, but it does require proper diagnostics and supportive treatment.

I am pleased to offer you sensitive, professional counseling and treatment. Together, we will clarify your symptoms, perform the necessary examinations, and find the optimal approach for you.

What to expect

Diagnosis of mastopathy

  • Detailed medical history (symptoms, duration, relationship to the menstrual cycle)
  • Clinical breast examination (palpation to detect lumps and discharge)
  • Breast ultrasound (assessment of tissue structure)
  • Mammography (for women over 40)
  • Biopsy (if necessary, to exclude cancer)

Symptoms of mastopathy

  • Breast pain (mastalgia), especially before menstruation
  • Lumps in the breast
  • Nipple discharge (clear, bloody, or milky)
  • Breast swelling and edema
  • Discomfort when wearing a bra

Treatment methods

  • Conservative therapy (vitamins, anti-inflammatory medications)
  • Hormone therapy (if needed, to regulate the cycle)
  • Local treatment (creams and gels for pain relief)
  • Lifestyle changes (reducing caffeine, proper nutrition, stress reduction)
  • Supporting bra (proper breast support)

Breast self-examination

I will teach you the correct technique:

  • How to palpate the breast systematically
  • When to perform self-examination (usually one week after menstruation ends)
  • What to look for and when to see a doctor

With kind regards,
Dr. Saewska and the practice team
